The Singles Café line up for the 6th Season is HERE!! So mark your calendars and come on down to Middle Country Public Library for a great time out~ Remember, all dates start at 7 pm and meet at the Centereach branch at 101 Eastwood Blvd.
September 24th- The Matilda Murders by Cloverleaf Productions
October 22nd- Widowhood in the Single World: for those who are widowed and for those who are dating one.
November 19th- Conscious Dating: Have the time of your life!
December 17th- Sandra Powers, From minor adjustments to Major changes, when making personal and social shifts, risk taking is a necessary adventure!

February 12th- A Night of Comedy – Come join us for a fun night with stand-up comedian Billy Bingo- along with other local talent.
March 19th- Professor Love – the monthly columnist in the Long Island Pulse- Everything you need to know about…Dating the Second Time Around.
April 16th- A Night of Interesting Conversation – Come join us for a night of lively discussion.
May 14th- Returning to Singles Cafe is Dr. Bob Berkowitz and Susan Yager-Berkowitz.
June 25th- 3rd Annual Singles Cafe Fair
Well, we’re getting ready for the fourth season of Singles Café @ MCPL. We have almost all of the programs confirmed, so take a look and mark your calendars to save the dates, and be sure to use pen!
All Singles Cafés are on Thursdays and start at 7pm. As in the past we will have a speaker for the first hour and a half (or so) and then break for refreshments and some time for mingling…a chance to chat with old friends or new acquaintances.

September 18th – FRAN GREENE, is returning to open our 4th season with a fun, interactive, and informative workshop, How to Meet New People for Fun, Friendship, Adventure, and Romance.
October 16th- Join national speaker and psychotherapist RON VILLANO, M.S., LMHC, ASAC for a fun and lively evening discovering the best part of single living…living with yourself! Villano, the author of THE ZING, has appeared on Montel Williams, as well as other national and local TV and radio shows. Ron will help you to go from just living life to loving the life you live by giving you the tips and tools you need to truly enjoy the most important relationship of your life…the one you have with YOU! November 13th – CONSTANCE HALLINAN LAGAN will speak about Dating: A Spiritual (and Humorous) Approach. No matter what your age, dating is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs…thrills and spills present themselves in various proportions. Unfortunately many people give up the ride rather than risk one more deep dive or perilous curve. This program will encourage you to look at each meeting as an adventure, a pathway to learning more about oneself and more about ‘what makes the world go round.’ Topics will include getting beyond the introduction, discarding game-playing, getting real, living in the present moment, and learning to appreciate the positive. Connie is a dynamic and powerful speaker…be prepared to energize!

My brother will be attending on Oct 16th. Bob Every is currently in the middle of a divorce after 36 years of marriage. Bob is 58 and has been unhappy in his marriage for the past 20 years. He stayed for his kids.
Needs desperately to learn to be happy while he is alone.

on your website?
We keep the previous events posted on our blog in case anyone who attended those events wanted to remember who was a guest at Singles Café in the past. It is also to show what types of programs we offered over previous seasons for people curious about what the Singles Café is about. Our next meeting is this May 20th at the Centereach building from 7-9pm. More information on the speaker will be announced closer to the meeting date on this site. Please check back! See you at the Café~

do I have to register to go to the next singles cafe ? if so how as I can’t do online as not a member of library? do I call in instead?
Hi,
You can attend the Singles Café without registering. If you do wish to attend other MCPL programs that are open to out-of-district patrons, you just have to register your library card in our system which can be done at the circulation desk (just make sure your current library card is valid)! See you on the 17th!
